The TUNISIAN QATARI BANK was created in 1982 with the naming "
The Tuniso-Qatarie bank of Investment ", and it in the term of
an agreement(convention) signed on March 3rd, 1982 between the State
of Qatar and the Tunisian Republic.
Further to the decision of the monetary authorities for the transformation(processing)
of investment banks in universal banks and after agreement of both states
shareholders, by order of April 2nd, 2004 of the Ministry of Finance,
the TUNISIAN QATARI BANK is the first bank to have obtained the enjoyment(approval)
to exercise its activities as credit institution having the quality
of universal bank instead of an investment bank, and it according to
the law N 65-2001 of July 10th, 2001 relative to credit institutions.
The capital of the TQB amounts at present to 30 million dinars, distributed
equally enter The Tunisian Government (50 %) and Qatar National Bank
(50 %).
